Human Observations started as my personal photo site. After my site was hacked, I started to rebuild it slowly. At the same time, I launched Local Captures — a photo tour site where we connect travelers with locals who share a passion for photography and for capturing the beauty of the places they call home.
After a few tours, I realized that the bond between tour participants and tour guides was much stronger than what you would typically see on a traditional tour. The reason, of course, was because the bond was created by a shared passion. That also led to an amazing sense of trust in the dynamics of our tours.
Another side effect of this tour dynamic was that tour guides got hired for other photo projects — family portrait photo shoots, event photography projects, etc.
Since not all of our tour guides have a web site, I decided to turn Human Observations into a group site — where other photographers can promote their capabilities.
This is the very beginning of this process, and as soon as I actually have other photographers work with me in this capacity, I will make sure to update our blog.
